About the Event
Sanskrit Pronunciation & Shāntiḥ Mantra
In this session, we will go over the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet, understand where each sound is originated in the mouth, and how to create it. Sanskrit is a phonetic language, and this workshop will help you recognize how to pronounce words properly, using examples of common Sanskrit terms in yoga and in mantras. You will also learn 2 Shāntiḥ Mantras, and 1 Ganesha mantra.
About
Lakshya (Elouise) is a Hatha, Yin and Prenatal Yoga Teacher. She shares Sanskrit, Chanting and Vedic Wisdom, and organizes Yoga Retreats around the world. Her aim is to provide support and guidance in all aspects of Yoga, bridging Eastern knowledge and the Western way of life. She has lived and studied with her teacher Swami Dayananda in an ashram in South India for 3 years, during a residential Vedanta course in 2010. Thereafter, moved to Mumbai and then Goa where she still resides and teaches.
