About the Event
A Journey into Sanskrit Chanting & Vedic Wisdom
New Online Cohort | Starting 14 January 2027
Every Thursday | 12:00-1:00 PM (Dubai Time)
Mantra Sangha is an intimate online community dedicated to traditional Sanskrit chanting and the wisdom of the Vedic tradition. A six-month or full-year journey to establish a consistent chanting practice, refine your Sanskrit pronunciation, build confidence, deepen your understanding of the mantras and explore the teachings of Vedānta and the Bhagavad Gītā.
More than simply learning new chants, Mantra Sangha offers the opportunity to develop a meaningful relationship with the mantras through regular practice, understanding and repetition.
Rooted in the traditional teachings of Arsha Vidya, the Sangha brings together authentic learning, personal guidance and a supportive community of like-minded students.
Following the beautiful journey of our first Mantra Sangha, I'm delighted to welcome a brand-new cohort beginning in January 2027, starting together from the foundations and gradually building our practice and repertoire.
While we begin together in January, new students are welcome to join at any point throughout the year, with fees adjusted pro rata according to the remaining classes.

Why Join Mantra Sangha?
Learning a mantra is one thing. Developing the confidence to chant it correctly, understanding its meaning and allowing it to become part of your life is something that grows through time and consistent practice.
This is the essence of abhyāsa - dedicated, consistent practice over time.
Mantra Sangha offers the structure, guidance and community to make that practice possible.
Whether you wish to bring traditional chanting into your yoga classes, establish a personal daily practice or deepen your connection with the Vedic teachings, this Sangha provides a space to continue learning and growing.
What Will You Gain?
Through our weekly gatherings, you will have the opportunity to:
Establish a consistent practice - Create a regular rhythm of chanting, learning and reflection that supports your personal practice.
Build confidence in chanting - Move beyond uncertainty or hesitation and become more comfortable chanting traditional Sanskrit mantras independently.
Refine your Sanskrit pronunciation - Develop greater accuracy and clarity through traditional chanting techniques, repetition and personal feedback.
Expand your mantra repertoire - Gradually learn and become familiar with a beautiful collection of traditional Vedic mantras, prayers and ślokas.
Understand what you are chanting - Explore the meaning, significance and traditional context of the mantras, rather than simply memorising the sounds.
Deepen your understanding of Vedic wisdom - Explore the teachings of the Bhagavad Gītā and Vedānta and discover their relevance to everyday life.
Bring mantras into daily life - Learn which chants are traditionally used for different occasions, including beginning a practice, prayer, contemplation and gratitude.
Learn within a supportive community - Connect with others who share a genuine interest in Sanskrit, chanting and the Vedic tradition.
With weekly guidance, revision and recordings to support your home practice, the intention is to help you develop a familiarity and confidence that continues to grow beyond our time together.
Who Is Mantra Sangha For?
Mantra Sangha is for anyone who wishes to deepen their relationship with Sanskrit chanting and Vedic wisdom through consistent, guided practice.
It is particularly suited to:
Yoga Teachers
Who would like to confidently incorporate traditional Sanskrit mantras into their classes, improve their pronunciation and deepen their understanding of the philosophical and spiritual roots of yoga.
Students of Yoga
Who feel drawn to explore beyond the physical practice and wish to learn more about mantra, Sanskrit and the teachings of the Vedic tradition.
Seekers of Vedic Wisdom
Who are interested in the Bhagavad Gītā, Vedānta and the timeless teachings of the Vedic tradition, and wish to explore their relevance to daily life.
You do not need to be an experienced chanter or have extensive Sanskrit knowledge. However, some familiarity with Sanskrit pronunciation is helpful.
Above all, Mantra Sangha is for those who appreciate the value of steady learning, regular practice and approaching the tradition with sincerity, curiosity and an open mind.

What Will We Explore?
Throughout the year, we will gradually build a repertoire of traditional Vedic mantras, prayers and ślokas, learning their pronunciation, meaning and appropriate use.
Our studies will include selections from the following:
Mantras & Ślokas
Saha Nāvavatu
Pūrṇamadaḥ
Śaṁ No Mitraḥ
Asato Mā Sadgamaya
Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ
Gāyatrī Mantra
Mahāmṛtyuñjaya Mantra
Gaṇeśa Mantras & Prayers

Alongside chanting, we will explore:
Sanskrit pronunciation and chanting techniques
Understanding the meaning and context of mantras
Traditional applications of different mantras
Sanskrit terminology relevant to yoga
Understanding and decoding Sanskrit āsana names
Selected topics from the Vedic and yoga traditions
20 Values from Chapter 13 of the Bhagavad Gītā
Our learning will unfold gradually, with regular opportunities to revise and strengthen familiar chants.
The above is an overview of the repertoire we may explore throughout the programme, rather than a fixed syllabus. Additional chants, festival prayers and relevant topics may also be included.

How Do the Weekly Sessions Work?
We meet every Thursday from 12:00-1:00 PM (Dubai time) for a live online gathering.
Each class brings together a combination of:
Learning new Vedic mantras and traditional prayers
Refining Sanskrit pronunciation and chanting techniques
Understanding the meaning and context of the chants
Ongoing revision and strengthening of previously learned mantras
Teachings from the Bhagavad Gītā and Vedānta
Questions, discussions and personal feedback
The emphasis is on learning steadily and thoroughly, rather than rushing through a large number of chants.
There is room to revisit, ask questions, make mistakes and gradually become more comfortable with the practice.
Recordings will be available for those who miss a session or would like to revisit the material and continue practising between classes.
Hear From Our Sangha
Student Experiences & Reflections
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching Mantra Sangha has been witnessing students grow in their confidence, understanding and relationship with Sanskrit chanting.
But the best way to understand the experience is to hear from those who have been part of it.
Here are some reflections from students of our existing Sangha, sharing their experiences of learning, chanting and growing together.

Your Teacher
Lakshya | Elouise Erlings
I have been teaching yoga since 2010 and Sanskrit and mantra since 2013.
My journey led me to Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in India, where I spent three years immersed in the traditional study of Vedānta and Sanskrit under Swami Dayananda Saraswati and my Sanskrit teacher, Swami Sakshatji.
This experience deeply shaped my understanding of the Vedic tradition and continues to influence the way I study, practise and teach today.
Through Mantra Sangha, my intention is to share these teachings in a way that remains faithful to their traditional roots, while making them accessible, practical and meaningful.
I believe Sanskrit chanting is something we can deepen throughout our lives. There is always more to discover in the pronunciation, meaning and understanding of each mantra.
My hope is to create a space where we can enjoy this journey together, learning with patience, curiosity and a genuine appreciation for the tradition.
