About the Event
Semester Two
A 16-week online journey into Vedic Chanting, Sanskrit & the Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gītā
Mantra Sangha is a space to continue deepening your relationship with Vedic teachings in a supportive and traditional learning environment.
Designed for students who have already completed the Foundation Course (or have prior experience), this ongoing sangha provides the opportunity to continue refining pronunciation, expand your chanting repertoire, and explore the teachings that support the practice.
Rather than simply learning new chants, we take the time to understand their meaning, context and application, allowing the practice to become a meaningful part of daily life.
This Semester
Throughout this 16-week semester we’ll continue to build upon everything we’ve learned together in semester 1, while introducing new chants and exploring one of the most practical and transformative sections of the Bhagavad Gītā.
Bhagavad Gītā
This semester we’ll explore the 20 Values from Chapter 13 of the Bhagavad Gītā, as unfolded by Swami Dayananda Saraswati.
These values are not presented as qualities that prepare the mind for greater clarity, freedom and Self-knowledge. Each week we’ll spend time reflecting on one of these values and how it can be applied in everyday life.
New Chants
This semester we’ll learn:
Sūrya Namaskāra Mantras
Annapūrṇā Śloka (before food)
Patañjali Prayer
Guru Stotram (8 verses)
Devī Mantras for Navarātri, including Durgā, Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī
Alongside these, we’ll continue revising and strengthening the chants learned in previous semesters so that they become established with confidence and ease.
There will be room for potential additional chants, festival prayers, or relevant topics that arise throughout the semester.
