SACRED INNER JOURNEY

a yoga & vedanta retreat

ALIBAUG, INDIA

February 28th - March 1st, 2020

Join us on a weekend getaway to Alibaug, conveniently located 1 hour from Mumbai, for a yoga retreat combined with vedic wisdom. It is our offering to take you on an enriching inner journey, exploring the wholeness and completeness that we are. During this retreat, we will share with you yoga classes for all levels, vedanta classes, meditation, satsang, and some free time to relax and enjoy nature.

मन एव मनुष्याणां बन्ध कारण मोकशयो :

The Mind alone can be the cause of bondage as well as liberation - Amrtabindu Upanishad

Our relationship with our minds is complex and multilayered. And hence we seek an escape all the time because “god knows, what my mind will come up with next? “. The vedic teachings can help us in learning to see our mind for what it really is, which is an inner instrument and seeing it as our greatest glory. We become more strong and compassionate in using the mind to create the powerful change we seek to make, in this world.

We will cover some wisdom insights, reflective exercises and meditations based on select verses from both the Yoga sutras and the Bhagavad Gita.

The Venue

Mango Beach House is designed in a modern minimalistic Mediterranean style, yet surrounded by  lush tropical landscape. The property has large ensuite rooms, a swimming pool and a full service spa. Best of all, it is only a short walk away from the beach. Whether taking a dip in the ever so inviting pool, listening to the birds chirp in the garden, or simply sitting on the porch, Mango Beach House offers the space to rejuvenate on a yoga retreat.

Classes

We will have two yoga classes in a day; hatha yoga in the morning and yin yoga in the evening. Classes include pranayama and meditation. The vedic wisdom classes will be covering meditation and mindfulness, which in many ways is yoga off the mat. Drawing from the wisdom of the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita,  we explore how we can be the best version of ourselves in the many situations we face in life.

The Teachers

This retreat is taught by Lakshya and Swamini B. They are dear friends, and as they say "Guru Behens" - female batch mates or literally sisters, who shared three years together studying with their Guru Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswati ji.

In keeping with the tradition, Swamini B is a traditional and contemporary teacher of Advaita Vedanta. She has been studying Vedanta since 1998 and has dedicated  her life  to sharing the ancient Vedic teachings of oneness and dharma. Swamini is also a qualified psychologist, and works with harnessing students' emotions and their inner child. With her warm heart and great sense of humour, it is truly a pleasure to learn with Swamini B, as your guide by the side!
